NOVA Lancaster Seminar Series: Digital Transformations & Global Health

Thirty people from across Europe enjoyed the second seminar hosted by NOVA-Lancaster Seminar Series. The seminar focussed on Digital Transformations and Global Health as a theme. Attendees enjoyed presentations from Professor Rute Costa (NOVA, FCSH) and Professor Elena Semino (Lancaster, CASS).

Both talks demonstrated the contribution that linguistic research can make to global health via large-scale studies of online health communication, particularly in relation to the experience of cancer and attitudes towards vaccinations. A recording of the event can be watched here.

The objective of the seminar series is to continue growing our partnership community and consider what both universities can do to further facilitate cross-disciplinary research. The events are open to anyone with an interest in a specific theme or the partnership in general. Please feel free to forward this calendar invite to other staff and students.

The next seminar in this series will be 12-1pm on June 21st, and will focus on the theme of sustainability with presentations fromProfessor Elizabete Carmo-Silva (Lancaster, FCT) and Professor Dizimalta Miquitaio (NOVA, ITQB). Please contact Joe Bourne to register an interest in attending the event.
