Offer holder events

We're delighted that you've applied to Lancaster University. We'd really like to meet you and hope you'll take up the invitation to join us at one of our departmental events.

If you receive an offer or are asked to attend an interview for one of our undergraduate courses, you’ll be invited to attend one of our exclusive Offer Holder Events.

Our offer holder and interview days are an excellent opportunity to meet with your department and our current students to find out more about your chosen degree programme. During your visit, you'll be able to learn more about the University, explore the campus and get a taste of what being a student at Lancaster is like. We have both in-person and digital events available, but we'd recommend that you come along and join us in person if you can.

What will I do at an offer holder event?

Your offer holder event will have two parts:

Meeting Your Department

You’ll begin with your department, where you’ll have a selection of sessions designed to show you what it would be like to study your subject at Lancaster. These sessions often include:

  • Departmental welcome talks
  • Taster lectures
  • Practical demonstrations
  • A tour of facilities
  • Student panels

You’ll also get a free lunch, to help keep you energised throughout the busy day!

Staff and students will be around to answer your questions.

Seeing Lancaster University

After visiting your department you can explore our campus and facilities.

  • Visit our Student Experience Hub. which consists of marketplace style stalls, showcasing various elements of student life, including societies, sports, careers and the library.
  • Take a student-led campus tour. Our student tour guides will show you around the key location across campus and will be happy to have a chat and answer your questions at the same time.
  • View our student accommodation. Of course, you’ll want to see where you might live for your first year, so we open up a selection of accommodation across campus for you to view. Our accommodation team will be there to answer your questions.

Coming with parents or supporters?

Some people choose to come to an offer holder event on their own, in order to experience Lancaster University independently. Alternatively, many of our attendees bring their parents and supporters along for the day, in order to get their insight. And there is absolutely no right or wrong way of doing this!

If you do decide to bring your parents or supporters with you, then we offer a dedicated parents and supporters schedule, which provides information tailored to their needs, whilst you’re busy taking a French lecture or participating in a practical Chemistry lab session.

How do I book?

If Lancaster University makes you an offer then you will automatically be invited to an offer holder event. You will be emailed a unique booking link, which will allow you to book your place. Simply look out for our email and follow the instructions when it arrives.

Please note that not all subjects host at each offer holder event. Your booking link will only allow you to book onto events where your admitting subject is available. If you have applied for a joint honours course, please contact your admitting department for advice on which event date is most suitable for you.

What if I can’t attend?

Our offer holder events are the best way to discover your subject at Lancaster. However, if you can’t attend, we have plenty of alternative options for you.

  • Campus Tour and More. Available from April 2026, these mid week Campus Tours include an opportunity to meet your department
  • Digital Events. We offer a range of webinars, live stream tours and online events, to help you discover Lancaster from the comfort of your home
  • Personalised Visits. If you’re coming from abroad and none of our scheduled events suit you, you’re welcome to book a personalised visit.
