Lancaster University Pre-School Centre has been awarded the myHappymind Bronze Accredited Nursery.

The accreditation identifies that staff, children and parents of the Centre have created a culture that helps build resilience, confidence and self-esteem in themselves and the children they care for through the myHappymind programme, which was introduced in September 2021.

The programme is designed for schools, families and nurseries who care about developing the mental wellbeing of children. It combines the latest research, science and technology to help children develop lifelong habits and learn to thrive in the modern world by equipping them with knowledge and skills.

On Tuesday 27 June the Pre-School held a free breakfast for the children, parents and staff to thank everyone involved and celebrate their achievements.

Adele Stewart, Pre-School Centre Manager said: "I am delighted that the Pre-School Centre has been awarded the myHappymind Bronze accreditation. It is very important to me that we educate the children in our care in every aspect of their life and equip them with the knowledge, skills and tools to the thrive in the modern world.

"The Pre-School team, working with the children and parents, have helped create a culture that helps builds resilience, confidence and self-esteem in ourselves and the children we care for.

"A huge thank you to all staff to have contributed to the delivery of the myHappymind programme, you should not underestimate the impact of this teaching. Special thanks to Joanne Daly (Pre-School Centre Deputy Manager) for collating and submitting such an insightful application that left the accreditation team with no doubts about the quality and impact of the teaching being delivered."
