Lancaster University Library has opened a new family study space where staff, students and members of the public can go with their children to study.

Following on from the Library's popular children's corner they have developed a larger family study space.

The space has been designed with children up to 12 years old in mind. It is an enclosed space to enable parents to work alongside their children knowing they will not disturb other library users.

There is a range of furniture to allow adults and children to use the space in a variety of ways, along with a some toys and books.

The space has also been furnished with a comfortable armchair to provide a more discrete area for breast feeding if required.

The new space has been made possible thanks to Alumni funding and from contributions from groups across campus especially the staff at the University's Pre-School Centre.

The family study space is located in the southwest corner of A floor, on the way to the Library's Archive Research Centre. You can also find baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet on A floor.
