Research Culture Strategic Advisory Group

RCSAG is chaired by the Director for Research Culture with a remit:

  • to ensure that the principles and ambitions in university policies relating to research culture are realised;
  • to develop and oversee process via the institutional Research-excellence Culture Action Plan (ReCAP);
  • to act as a conduit for communication, decision-making and strategic planning;
  • to evaluate how initiatives have enhanced research culture and added institutional value.

The group comprises representation from across the researcher community including technicians, academics and researchers, research enabling staff and PGRs. The strategic direction and decisions set by the Group are implemented and actualised indirectly via existing associated groups/committees or directly taken forward by RCSAG members in their departments/faculty.

Faculty Researcher Career and Development Groups (RCADs)/ Research Staff Networks (ReSN)

Each faculty has a RCAD/ReSN group, chaired by one or more researchers. The groups are open to all research -only staff on a time limited contract. They each determine their own agenda for supporting researchers but broadly share information, welcome new researchers, offer networking opportunities and provide a forum through which researchers can share their experiences and provide signposting to support.

The RCAD chairs are represented on RCSAG and the Concordat Implementation Group (CIG). On RCSAG this is by faculty on a rotational basis.
