We will explore together how Edwardians combined pictures and words multimodally and their writing.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the newly invented picture postcard was the social media of its day. With up to ten deliveries a day people could combine a short message and picture of their choice and send it quickly and cheaply. Memes such as cute cats and images of celebrities were shared. People used cards for serious reasons too. We will explore together how Edwardians combined pictures and words multimodally and their writing.Contact Details
