As well as academic content, the summer schools offer a range of opportunities for you to make friends, try new skills, and travel the UK.

  • Chester
  • Liverpool

  • Manchester
  • The Lake District
  • York

Please note that some trips will be at an additional cost.

Evening activities

We run regular social activities in the evenings for you to relax and make friends with other students from around the world. For larger groups, there will often be choices of activities between sports, games, or cultural activities. Here are some examples from previous years: 


  • Play strategy board games
  • Compete in a FIFA tournament with PS4 gaming
  • Immerse yourself in a world of Lego


  • Tour Lancaster Castle 
  • Watch British films or theatre
  • Bake delicious treats
  • Dine in international restaurants
  • Practice your English over tea and scones


  • Walk and talk through a peaceful woodland
  • Play cricket, frisbee, netball, basketball or football
  • Relax with yoga and mindfulness
  • Dance, laugh and get fit with Zumba

Team building and interactive learning

You will experience trips and activities throughout the summer schools that develop your team-building and problem-solving skills - skills that are valued by employers. Make friends, enhance your cultural awareness and have fun with activities such as:

  • Logical puzzles
  • Building a canoe raft
  • Deliver group presentations
  • Compete in the College Cup Day
  • Deliver a talent show, as part of the performance, tech, or organisation teams
  • Design ecofriendly ideas for local communities
