A casual / PGA teaching subsidised staff ticket eligibility extension has been made for the new Stagecoach ‘Bay Flexi’ carnet mobile app bus tickets. With immediate effect, the following additions apply to the current terms:

• Casual / PGA teaching staff who are contracted to work between 1 and 189 hours per annum (<0.1 FTE) are eligible to purchase 1 x Bay Flexi 10 ticket per academic year.*
• Casual / PGA teaching staff who are contracted to work 190 hours or more per annum (>0.1 FTE) are eligible to purchase 1 x Bay Flexi 20, or up to 2 x Bay Flexi 10 tickets per academic year.*

The ‘Bay Flexi 10’ enables 10 days of bus commuting for £12 instead of the regular price of £38.50, while the ‘Bay Flexi 20’ enables 20 days of bus commuting for £24 instead of the regular price of £77.

Partially funded by a new University subsidy for 2023-24, the ‘Bay Flexi’ tickets are optimal for colleagues who commute to campus by bus on a relatively small number of occasions through the year, providing better value for money than a Unirider bus pass and standard single / return bus fares.

*Casual / PGA teaching staff should check their total contracted hours over the year before applying. Campus residents, Honorary / visiting staff, External Examiners, Consultants, ERS staff and zero-hour staff do not qualify.
