The 2025 Planetary Health Report Card has been released, and Lancaster Medical School has been ranked sixth in the table of UK Medical Schools.

The Report Card is a tool for assessing medical schools' efforts to improve their sustainability.

Scoring A’s in both Planetary Health Curriculum and Interdisciplinary Research, the high ranking reflects Lancaster Medical School's work to integrate sustainable healthcare into the medical curriculum, as well as the University’s wider commitment to sustainability.

The report card ranks Lancaster Medical School above several world-renowned medical schools, including Harvard Medical School, Oxford University Medical School, and the University of Cambridge.

At Lancaster, we’ve been working to integrate sustainable healthcare throughout the medical curriculum, as well as the wider university, to address the challenges of planetary health.
