How we use your data to stay in touch

Lancaster University is committed at every level to making sure that our communications with you are secure, considered, welcome and relevant to you. We will use your details to communicate with you to send you updates from the University and to contact you for direct marketing (which includes the annual STEPS magazine, emailed event invitations and e-newsletters) and fundraising purposes. We aim to communicate with you at a relevant level and make appropriate requests for support by also using external public data sources. To do this, we may cross-check your publicly available data on social media sites such as LinkedIn to ensure that our records are robust and up to date. We fundraise for the University to make a positive impact on the lives of Lancaster students and make advances in ground-breaking research. To help us do this efficiently, we may also carry out profiling and wealth screening.

Your data will be held by Lancaster University (until you ask us not to do so) in accordance with the University’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations Privacy Statement which you can view online here: http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/alumni/privacy-statement
