Hear from our researchers about pressing issues in modern society, such as new recycling processes, using AI to improve renewable energy, and how to adapt climate change communications to an audience's psychological profiles.
In 2021, we are bringing together the Faculty Annual Conference and Public Lecture Series with a week of talks and activities. Our theme is "change", recognising that all our lives have been changed dramatically and that in its many forms, science will help shape the changes still to come.
This session will feature talks from colleagues in Engineering and Psychology.
- Professor Sarah Green, "Recycling textiles from mattresses – a materials opportunity"
- Dr Min Xia, "Smart decision making in wind energy production with deep learning"
- Dr Richard Philpot, "The (un)helpful bystander? Lessons learned from the analysis of public CCTV footage"
- Dr Mark Hurlstone, "The most dangerous game"
