This webinar focuses on the role of private universities in widening university access and participation in the Global South, particularly in the Sub-Saharan region.

Using a capability approach as an analytical framework, it examines how access to higher education through private universities can transform students’ lives and contribute to human development in Zambia. It offers an alternative to human capital theory by emphasizing both the economic and intrinsic societal and social benefits of access to university and raised aspirations.

This event is part of the Educational Research Seminar Series.
