The Campaigns team leads on the University’s brand-level marketing activity for all external Lancaster audiences around the world, from student recruitment to global reputation building, working across B2B and B2C. We promote the University’s values and raise awareness of the organisation, telling Lancaster’s story to encourage meaningful engagement and connections with a range of audiences from prospective students and staff, to researchers and businesses.

As a strategic priority of the University, a large area of our work focuses on student recruitment marketing at all levels – foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research – as well as all modes of delivery, including on-campus, distance and at our partner campuses.

The team is made up of five specialisms:

  • advertising and promotion
  • email communications
  • marketing impact
  • publications
  • web and digital content.

Working together, we gather market insight and data to create professional University brand-level marketing collateral such as webpages, videos, photography and flagship publications like prospectuses. Our collateral is then used for targeted campaigns to help achieve many strategic goals, for example:

  • digital advertising to increase awareness of what Lancaster offers students and researchers
  • converting prospective students through to enrolment with email activity offering helpful support and information at the right times in the student recruitment journey
  • providing high-quality videos and publications for public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities to reinforce the University’s position as a global research institution.
  • bespoke websites and digital assets to demonstrate our international identity and engage with diverse global audiences.

The Campaigns team also advises colleagues across Lancaster University on issues of marketing and communications compliance particularly consumer protection, advertising standards and data protection.
