Guidance on using the Underpass

A stagecoach bus pulled up at the underpass

The University has been working (from a distance) with StageCoach to implement new measures aimed at reducing the risk to staff and students at Lancaster University.

There is a one-way system in place meaning that the capacity of the Underpass is reduced and only one stairwell can be used to enter the Underpass. The route has been signposted and aims to seperate inbound and outbound passenger as much as possible.

It is mandatory to wear a mask on public transport where able at the moment and facemasks should also be warn within the Underpass and Underpass stairwells too.

Other Government guidance applies here too. Social distancing must be maintained and we ask that where possible, 2m social distancing is adhered to. Where possible, only one person at a time should use the underpass. This excludes those accompanying children or assisting someone with disabilities.

Sanitising your hands and minimising unecessary contact are also crutial to your safety and the safety of others. The underpass is being cleaned more regularly as part of the wider University effort to keep campus safe.

If you require assitance in the underpass you may contact the Facilities Helpdesk on 01524 593333 in normal working hours, or the Security Lodge on 01524 594541 out of hours.
