Sub Station works and planned power outages - Sunday 17 September & Saturday 23 September


Students on the Spine

As part of a project to carry out an essential remedial works to a Sub Station on North Campus, the power to the following buildings will be temporarily switched off on Sunday 17 September and Saturday 23 September:

  • LICA
  • CEH Remote Workshops
  • County Field Residences
  • County Main
  • County South (including Catering Kitchens)
  • FASS (but not Margaret Fell Lecture Theatre)
  • The Great Hall
  • Nuffield Theatre
  • Jack Hylton Music Rooms
  • Music Building
  • Bowland Hall
  • Bowland Annexe
  • Bowland ASH
  • Welcome Centre

On Sunday 17 September there will be a complete loss of power to the above buildings from the start of the works at 8:00am for a period of no longer than four hours. On Saturday 23 September, the works will begin at 8:00am and will last no longer than 6 hours. A generator will be in place on this occasion during the works period, before switching back to mains power after the completion of works. There may be some power disruption during this time.

Key contacts for each affected building have been informed of the planned outages by email, and this information should be shared with any students or members of staff who may be affected by these works.

The point of contact on the day for the duration of the works will be Simon Corless, Electrical Engineer, who will be on site for the duration of the works.
