Temporary closure of Bowland Avenue East for site cabin collection

An aerial view of the Lancaster University campus.

On Thursday 23 and Friday 24 April, Bowland Avenue East, outside the Welcome Centre, will be closed to vehicles to enable the collection of the contractor site cabins located in the short stay car parking spaces, as work nears completion on the first and second phases of the Space Utilisation Project.

The cabins will be dismantled and craned onto wagons for their removal from campus, causing localised noise disruption. Pedestrian access to the avenue will be maintained, however the footpath adjacent to Bowland North will be temporarily closed.

Alternative accessible parking is available on Bowland Avenue. Where possible, deliveries should be diverted elsewhere on campus.

Access will be possible past the Security Lodge and around the Chaplaincy Centre at all times.

Access to the avenue will reopen on the evening of Friday 24 April.
