Rachel Cooper

A step up for Rachel

My postgraduate degree involves more independent work outside the normal teaching hours, and lectures tend to be longer in length to help you fully understand a topic. My course also has a much higher coursework content than at undergraduate level, and I only have one exam this year, which suits me really well. I also love the fact that you get access to postgraduateonly study areas on campus and in town, including the postgrad study space in the Library and a PC lab in Graduate College with 25 computers and is open 24 hours.

Lancaster is a great university for prospective postgraduates because of the quality of the teaching and also the support and guidance they give you when you are applying for jobs after university. The university is excellent at offering student support whether related to mental health or careers guidance, and the campus is friendly and welcoming with a lot of opportunities and societies available to postgraduate students.
