Hundreds of visitors recently joined Lancaster University at More Music in Morecambe for its popular one‑day Campus in the City festival, bringing research to life in the heart of the community.

One of the biggest and busiest yet, families explored 18 hands‑on activities at Campus in the City led by Lancaster researchers with something for every age and curiosity.

Children built LEGO electric cars, fired water like a spitting snake, shaped plasticine muscles, met a humanoid robot, stepped into a custom Minecraft world, turned detectives to spot real faces from AI generated faces, and even experienced the Northern Lights in virtual reality.

Visitors could also explore Morecambe’s past and present through interactive exhibits, try their hand at liquid-nitrogen experiments, and visit the ever-popular Teddy Bear Hospital, where young guests learned about health, wellbeing and medical care by helping their teddies through check‑ups and treatments.Children enjoying CITC

The festival brought together researchers from across the University to share their work with the community in fun, accessible ways and now the University would like your help to make future events even better. If you visited Campus in the City this year, please take a moment to fill in this short survey to help shape how things will look in the future.
