Psychologists at Lancaster University are asking members of the public to take part in research into how the Covid-19 pandemic is affecting them personally.

The study is entitled Perceptions of Challenges, Social Responses, and Lifestyle Changes to COVID-19.

The lead researcher Dr Guillermo Perez-Algorta said: “This research aims to investigate perceptions and responses to the challenges imposed by the recent pandemic of COVID-19, and the behavioural changes that individuals have made in recent weeks to adapt to this new situation.

“Not all individuals have the same reactions when faced with a potential threat to their health and well-being. “

Researchers are interested in whether people react to health data like the prevalence of the virus or whether their decision-making is more governed by perceptions such as "the risk is high" or "the risk is low” instead of official statistics.

“Understanding the full range of how individuals have responded to the recent public health and safety concerns could inform future approaches to major problems facing modern society.”

The study involves an anonymous questionnaire taking between 15 to 40 minutes, with questions on your perceptions of the COVID virus, and your recent behaviours.
