The Pentland Centre garden is an small oasis at the edge of the Management School, where - weather permitting - you can sit and eat lunch or read a book.

It’s still a little bit chilly to sit out there at the moment, but Dr Dmitry Yumashev and Dr Victoria Janes have broken the record for earliest planting this year.

They borrowed a shovel from Green Lancaster and replanted Dmitry's Christmas tree in the Pentland Centre garden, giving it a new lease of life, and avoiding the wasteful practice of discarding a tree every year. If you're thinking of doing the same, you need to make sure that you buy a Christmas tree with roots so that it can be replanted.

Very soon you will be able to see Pentland staff out there, weeding, watering and planting - come over and say hello!
