This Privacy Notice applies to Parents and Supports who have consented to receive email updates from Lancaster University by completing this form. The University will process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and any other applicable data protection legislation.

What personal data we collect

Personal data collected will include:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Country of residence
  • Non-identifiable information about the potential applicant’s interest in studying at Lancaster (e.g. year to commence studies, areas of interest, etc.).

Purpose of collecting your data

We will use the collected personal data to send you email in order to keep you up to date on upcoming open days, other key dates in the application cycle, and need-to-know information about applying to Lancaster University.

Lawful basis for processing your data

By completing the Parents and Supporters Contact form you are consenting to receive the email updates, as described above. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. To withdraw your consent, you can click the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of each email you receive. Alternatively, you can email studentrecruitmentcrm-support@lancaster.ac.uk.

Do we share your data

Your personal data will be stored within our Marketing CRM system, which is provided by an external supplier and is hosted in the cloud. Outside of tis, we will not share your personal data with anyone external to the University.

Personal data will only be retained for as long as we need it to fulfil the purpose of collection and in line with the University’s retention schedule

What are your rights

  • To have your personal data deleted – this will only apply when there is no legitimate reason for the University to continue to use your personal data;
