We offer a range of CPD courses informed by our teaching and research specialisms. These are available in work-based, home-study or intensive teaching formats and accredited standalone courses may combine towards full postgraduate qualifications.
If you have attended CPD sessions or Teachers and Advisors Conferences in previous years and would like to attend our new events, or if you are new to working with Lancaster University and would be interested in professional development with us, please get in touch and we will keep you updated on our new programme of events and conferences. You can also follow us on Twitter.
Regional Teachers Forum
We will be launching a new Teachers Forum for key feeder schools in North West. This will act as a regional network connecting teachers and careers advisors in schools and colleges with recruitment and admissions colleagues at Lancaster University and other key stakeholders, such as UCAS and Student Finance England.
It will also serve as a crucial knowledge-sharing platform - bringing together best practice ideas from state, independent, faith, sixth form and FE college institutions and more.
Subject Training Sessions
Throughout the year, various academic departments offer training events for subject teachers. These events - a mix of virtual and in-person aim to showcase world-leading research relevant to the curriculum, share resources for use in the classroom and provide you with the opportunity to network with other teachers.
Additionally, teachers can access a number of CPD courses offered during the academic cycle as well as summer schools. To find out more visit our CPD Courses page below.
In partnership with FutureLearn, we run a variety of free online courses (sometimes known as MOOCs). These are run at regular intervals - all you need is access to a computer, tablet or mobile phone to learn with us.
