£10,000 fee reduction scholarship for international students who are a national of, or permanently resident in India, and are starting a taught postgraduate course in 2026.
As we prepare to open our new Lancaster University branch campus in Bengaluru, we are proud to launch a new scholarship for students from India. Our India Scholarship – Postgraduate is a £10,000 scholarship, awarded as a fee reduction, and aims to enable and encourage Indian students with a strong academic record to pursue their studies at Lancaster in 2026.

Who is eligible?
You will automatically be considered for this scholarship if you:
are a national of, or your permanent home address is in India
have an average grade to date at a 1st or 2:1 level (or equivalent) in your undergraduate studies. If you have already completed your undergraduate studies then you will need to have already achieved a 1st or 2:1 degree
There is no separate application process for this scholarship. Eligible students will be identified automatically through their application.
The scholarship will be awarded when you meet the conditions of your offer, or when you accept your unconditional offer.
Payment of the scholarship
The award will be worth £10,000 and will be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
Combining scholarship awards
If you meet the eligibility for the Alumni Loyalty Scholarship you can combine it with this India Scholarship – Postgraduate however, it cannot be combined with any other scholarships awarded by Lancaster University.
If an applicant is eligible for both the India Scholarship - Postgraduate and a scholarship and/or tuition fee discount from any of our international teaching partnerships, only the award of the highest value will be made.
Further information
The scholarship is available across all MA, MSc, MBA, LLM full-time taught postgraduate degree programmes offered fully on campus at Lancaster University, Bailrigg campus. It is also available to students on our EMBA programme. It is not available to students applying for MSc by Research programmes or online programmes.
Applicants must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer from Lancaster University.
Applicants in receipt of external funding will only be eligible for this scholarship where the external funding covers less than 50% of the tuition fee.
Awardees must be classed as 'overseas' or ‘international' fee-paying students for tuition fee purposes, for the duration of their studies. If you are awarded the scholarship and are subsequently reassessed as a ‘home’ fee-payer, you will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
Lancaster University reserves the right to withdraw this scholarship or bursary if award holders are subsequently found to be ineligible or if the terms and conditions of the scholarship are not adhered to.
