Who is eligible?
You will automatically be considered for this scholarship if you:
are a national of, or your permanent home address is within, one of the following countries/regions:
Bangladesh
Egypt
Ghana
Indonesia
Kenya
Malaysia
Nepal
Nigeria
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
Taiwan
Thailand
Turkey
Vietnam
achieve, or already hold, a 1st or 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in your undergraduate studies
International students from other countries may be eligible for the Master’s Excellence Scholarship – International.
How to apply
There is no separate application process. Eligible students will be identified automatically through their University application. The scholarship is confirmed once Lancaster University is in receipt of your final exam transcript.
The scholarship is confirmed when you meet the terms of your offer, or accept your place if your offer is unconditional.
Payment of the scholarship
The award will be worth £10,000 and will be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
Combining scholarship awards
If you meet the eligibility for the Alumni Loyalty Scholarship you can combine it with this International Regional Scholarship – Postgraduate however, it cannot be combined with any other scholarships awarded by Lancaster University.
The scholarship is available across all MA, MSc, and LLM full-time taught postgraduate degree programmes offered fully on campus at Lancaster University, Bailrigg campus. It is not available to students applying for MSc by Research programmes or online programmes.
Applicants must have accepted a conditional or unconditional offer from Lancaster University for October 2026 entry
Applicants in receipt of external funding will only be eligible for this scholarship where the external funding covers less than 50% of the tuition fee.
Applicants applying from articulation partners and Pre-Master's programmes offered by Lancaster University are not eligible for this scholarship.
Awardees must be classed as 'overseas' or ‘international' fee-paying students for tuition fee purposes, for the duration of their studies. If you are awarded the scholarship and are subsequently reassessed as a ‘home’ fee-payer, you will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
Lancaster University reserves the right to withdraw this scholarship or bursary if award holders are subsequently found to be ineligible or if the terms and conditions of the scholarship are not adhered to.
