Krish Sagar Shah, BSc in Accounting and Finance

My most memorable moment at Lancaster was participating in the LUIDS Cricket Tournament. I made lifelong friends during this experience and loved meeting others who are passionate about cricket. I love Flyde College Bar “The Mill”, it streams sports matches throughout the term, and I have watched thrilling cricket matches at the bar with my friends.

Lancaster University campus is like a town of its own, with various facilities for students and staff such as restaurants, a pharmacy, post office and much more. It ensures that students feel at home while they study at Lancaster University. My favourite place is the library with its amazing facilities; there are individual study pods and group study spaces.

Finding your community

At Lancaster, there are plenty of opportunities to find your people. You'll have a ready-made community in your college and plenty of opportunities to meet others through the hundreds of societies. Divya Sherwani

Divya Sherwani, MSc Business Analytics

The opportunity work on a client based project as a part of my dissertation was the best thing about the course. Many of my modules were hands-on and this taught me a lot and was helpful for a smooth transition into the corporate world. I believe a course from such a reputed university has boosted my CV a lot and helped me get a job as well.

As part of the Lancaster University Management School I benefitted from exceptional support from my programme leaders, and professional mentors and also took part in opportunities like working on live projects, completing an internship and joining professional round table sessions with industry experts, professionals, and distinguished alumni. These invaluable experiences provided me with the tools to prepare for jobs, and also to excel in my future career.

Rohit and Mayank

Sweet success for Rohit and Mayank

An alumni event in Delhi in August 2022 brought Rohit (MSc International Business [Economics], 2009) and Mayank (BEng Mechanical Engineering, 2014) into each other’s orbits. The connection was instant – and now they are working together to take a major international brand across India.

The Lancaster connection has proved crucial to the success of the partnership, and the speed with which it has taken off. It created a level of trust from the off, and Rohit says: “We are both from the same university, we both have the same kind of background when it comes to the mentality...

...The minute you know that you've studied in the same place, you know there's a lot of credibility. The fact we were both from the same alma mater gave us straight up confidence, and having a lot of mutual friends gave us enough reasons for us to move forward rather than to worry.”

“Somewhere, the wavelengths just matched and we realised we just had to do something together. After the event, we just sat down and said we should do something,” recalls Rohit. Mayank continues, "It is just a simple connection we have. We just spoke and we clicked. Every day, we kept on having conversations. It is one of the best things to happen from the alumni gatherings.”
