Staff Parking
Parking information for University staff and tenants.
Important! Mon-Fri 08:00-18:00 you must clearly display a valid permit, scratch card or pay & display ticket in the windscreen of your vehicle or purchase a digital parking ticket using RinGo Cashless Parking Solution and be parked in the correct area. If you are registered onto a parking permit but don't display the permit in your vehicle windscreen you risk receiving a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Security will not authorise you to park unless you clearly display your valid permit in your vehicle or purchase a digital permit in accordance with the University's Parking Policy.
Annual Permits and Prices 2024-25
Annual parking permits for 2024-25 are valid from 1st October 2024 to 30th September 2025.

Switch to the bus for a larger discount
Staff who held an annual parking permit for the previous academic year can benefit from an additional switch discount by opting for a Unirider Bus Pass.

Policy and Enforcement
1-Day Staff Scratch Cards from the Online Store
Available in strips of 5 cards at a reduced rate of £14.50 per strip, so just £2.90 per day for parking. Staff can order as many strips as required. Orders are collection only from University House Reception between 09:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday, 5 working days after the online order has been placed.
Annual Permit vs Daily Scratch Cards Option
With many staff now agile working, an annual permit may no longer be the most cost effective option for some. This will depend on how frequently you visit campus over the year as well as your pay grade and FTE level. Beyond a certain frequency of campus visits each week during the year, the annual permit option will be the most cost effective one. The following table provides a summary of the pricing tipping points between the daily scratch card option and the annual permit option.

1Based on staff working the equivalent of 45 weeks of the year. The annual permit option becomes cheaper than daily scratch cards when average frequency of days on campus per week through the year reaches a certain tipping point.
Termly Permits
Termly Permits are available to all staff that do not have a subsidised Unirider bus pass.
- Term Permit – Michaelmas, Lent, Summer Vacation (Staff, Contractors) - £104 a term/vacation
- Term Permit – Michaelmas, Lent, Summer Vacation (Students) - £64 a term/vacation
- Term Permit – Summer + Summer Vacation (Staff, Contractors) - £162 a term/vacation
- Term Permit – Summer + Summer Vacation (Students) - £64 a term/vacation

Blue Badges and Accessible Permits
Accessible Parking Permit charges are in line with other parking permit charges for staff. The annual price for staff is dependent upon grade and FTE level. Valid Blue Badge holders remain exempt from charges for the Accessible Parking Permit.

There are 36 electric vehicle charging points located across the campus at various locations. Find out more on the Electric Vehicles page.
Monthly Permits are only available to University staff on contracts of 52 weeks or less and co-located business tenant staff in LEC, InfoLab21 or HIC. Contractors are also eligible. The price is £43 a month. Those eligible wishing to purchase a Monthly Permit should contact the Car Parking Team at car-parking@lancaster.ac.uk.
If you are a permit holder (including 1-day scratch cards) and you change your vehicle you will need to inform the Car Parking Team in Security so that the permit database can be updated with your new vehicle details. This is now essential as ANPR is increasingly being used to enforce the parking regulations on campus.
