Complete your online induction training

Before you start your programme you will be asked to complete Lancaster University’s pre-arrival induction courses online.

As part of becoming a registered student at the University, you are asked to complete a range of online courses. They reflect topics that are important to the University community and our core values.

How to access the courses

These courses are available through the Portal or the student induction hub and will be available to you when you register with the University and receive your IT login details.

Priority courses for all students

Ready for University

Starting university can be a big change. Ready for University is an online course designed to help you prepare for your new life as a student at Lancaster University. The course is an introduction to life at Lancaster and includes information on making friends and settling in, academic skills, life skills, wellbeing and much more. It is your guide to life at Lancaster.

Lancaster Values and Behaviours

This Lancaster Values and Behaviours course explains what is expected from you as a Lancaster student.

The course consists of two modules:

  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: This module explains Lancaster’s approach to creating an inclusive community where everyone can feel safe and happy.
  • Consent for Students: Covers the law, the gender norms, stereotypes and cultural factors which may affect people’s ability to consent. It also supports people to communicate about consent with their partners and improve their ability to have good sexual communication.

We are aware that some students may have concerns about the content of the Consent for Students module. You can find more information about the course content on the student induction hub.
