LUMS Alumnus is Awarded Patent for Research Design

Prof. Dr. Chaitanya Niphadkar (MA Human Resource Development and Consulting, 2009) tells of his latest achievement in securing a UK Patent for a research design for his innovation; a power performer tool for organisational change.
" Over the years, I have become a distinguished academic and leadership expert specialising in areas such as Leadership, Human Resources, Learning and Development, Change Management, Organizational Development and Organizational Behaviour. All of this began in 2008 when I registered for a course entitled, “Human Resource Development and Consulting” at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS).
LUMS gave me the insight of the subject along with the added spice of research. As the course title suggests, it had a separate module on consulting; a project that was undertaken at the Brathay Trust located in Ambleside, Cumbria. Overall, the master’s degree was a wonderful experience and one of its kind. The quality standards in terms of teaching and research were outstanding and the atmosphere at Lancaster was very much conducive for learning. It is at LUMS where I actually started developing an interest for research and innovation.
With regard to my academic qualifications, I hold two master's degrees, two doctoral degrees, a wide range of certifications. I have also published eight books and I am in the process of writing several international journal articles. This was all possible due to my time in LUMS.
In June 2025, I was granted a UK Patent for a research design for my innovation to the “Champ Performer” which is a Power Performer Tool for Organisational Change. I coined the word (Champ Performer or CP) during my PhD days and now with post-doctoral research, I am showing its execution.
I am an alumnus of both LUMS (2009) and Harvard Business School (Boston, USA, 2019). I am also the 'Verified Educator' of the Harvard Business Impact (formerly known as the Harvard Business Publishing Education) in the United States. Besides, I have also guided doctoral learners, founded institutes and I have been an academic partner in several reputed organisations.
Lancaster University laid the foundation to my career and gave me the grounding that has facilitated my growth up to now. In other words, if I hadn't had the opportunity to receive my UK education, I might not have been an academician, a global player and a prolific author.
LUMS has truly been the foundation for my education and has enabled me to succeed as an author, professor, director and edupreneur...!
