Suzy Wimbourne (Fine Art, 2011, Pendle) and Alex Carrington (Politics and International Relations, 2010, Grizedale) are yet another couple who met whilst studying at Lancaster University.

They launched their wedding photography business, Suzy Wimbourne Photography, in 2012 and have photographed over 150 weddings all over the UK, including an increasing list of fellow Lancaster Alumni couples. Indeed, their combined nostalgia for Lancaster meant they chose the Ashton Memorial as their own wedding venue for November 2020.

In addition to their photography business they are also musicians. Both were hugely active at the University in the Music Society and gigging around campus; including at the Grad Ball, Christmas Ball and Campus Extravs. Having spent the winter months of the past five years working for Disney, employed as an acoustic duo for the Cruise Line division out of Florida, they enjoyed the many ports and mostly the opportunity to make lasting friendships around the world. This has since directly led to their toughest and most exciting challenge yet to establish a Specialty Coffee Roasters business that they foresee eventually taking over all their existing work.

Carringtons Coffee Co. launched in Summer 2019 after nearly 2 years of planning, practice and an invitation to a farm in Colombia. Co-founders Suzy and Alex are roasting single estate coffees and will also roast for and make Cold Brew Coffee starting in the Spring.

When Suzy and Alex return to Lancaster in 2020 to get married they will have come full-circle and be ready to begin the next chapter of their lives.
