What if We Got AI Right?

Eleanor was unable to join us at the recent DSAIL AI Showcase, please join us online to hear this talk by Dr Eleanor Drage.

What if We Got AI Right?

In this talk, Eleanor dodges utopia and apocalypse to explore what real people (and not just technocrats) actually want from AI. We look at 5 strategies for getting AI right today, from frugal tech development models to re-evaluating human-technology relationships. From bacteria and Raspberry Pi's to AI's material world of quartz and silicon, she shows how shifting power in AI is about more than just de-biasing.

Dr Eleanor Drage is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence. One of the UK’s leading AI ethicists, her work has been covered by the BBC, the Guardian, Telegraph and Forbes, and she frequently speaks on radio and at AI conferences. She is host of The Good Robot Podcast, and a Top 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics 2022.
