Join Lancaster's scientists in a celebration of LGBTQ+ scientists, with lots of fun activities for the whole family!

From 10am-3pm in the Main Hall, academics from across the University (alongside industry partners and local groups) will be hosting a range of fun, family-friendly activities to engage young people in science and celebrate the contributions of LGBTQ+ scientists to their respective fields. Activities will include:

  • A crash course in coding with the BBC Micro:bit
  • Building hydrogen cars
  • Creating your own density rainbow
  • Arts and crafts with Queer By Gum
  • DIY flower dyeing
  • Queer bookmark colouring (and bookshop) courtesy of Bent Spines
  • Meet real-life scientists working in industry
  • "Snap Circuit" circuit boards

We will also be running a series of talks on LGBTQ+ themes alongside the activity hall, suitable for people aged 16+. Please book these talks separately!

This is an inclusive event, and we welcome everyone to join.
