How to Apply
Applying for a Masters programme is a simple process and we accept applicants throughout the year. Discover our fees and range of scholarships and funding opportunities to help you finance your postgraduate studies.
We are looking for applicants with a proven academic record who need further skills to achieve their career goals. You will need to demonstrate both academic ability and motivation to secure a place for postgraduate study at Lancaster. For entry requirements, please refer to the course pages.
Applying for a Masters degree is fast and easy. Before you start your application, please have your documents ready to upload (ideally as PDF files). There are no application fees, and the system will highlight which documents you need to provide.
To start your application you will need:
- Academic transcripts
- Personal Statement
As a condition of your offer, we will ask you for additional documents, such as those below. You can simply upload these into the online application system once you have them.
- Language test results (if your first language is not English)
- Degree certificates
- Referees - make sure you include their full contact details. You will need at least one referee who can comment on your academic suitability for the course. If your course requires work experience, such as the MBA, one referee should be your line manager.
All applications for UK, EU and International applicants must be completed using our online application system. When you apply, you will need to:
- Complete the form
- Upload your supporting documents
It's best to apply early as competition for places is intense and if you meet the criteria for scholarships they are often allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Once you have submitted your application, we will review it to determine your suitability. You may be asked to attend an interview before an offer is made.
You will receive an email informing you of our decision, and if you are offered a place you can log on to the online application system to view your offer and reply. If you have already fulfilled all requirements for entry to the course you will be given an unconditional offer. Otherwise, you may be given an offer that is conditional upon upcoming exam or English language results, or receipt of further evidence. If you receive an offer, you will be required to pay a deposit in order to secure your place on the course. If you fail to meet the conditions of your offer, this deposit will be refunded provided that you have made a reasonable attempt to meet any conditions.
Once you have received an offer, you will usually have four weeks to accept the offer in the online application system and pay your deposit to guarantee your place. The deposit will be deducted from your tuition fees.
Once you have met the terms of your offer and secured your place with a deposit, you will be ready to start your programme. Before you start, we will send you all the details you will need on accommodation, travel, induction programmes and other pre-arrival information.
