Dr Frannie Léautier has been awarded an honorary degree at the July graduation ceremonies.

The Chancellor the Rt Hon Alan Milburn awarded her the degree of Doctor of Laws.

Dr Léautier, Chief Operating Officer at the Trade and Development Bank, is a finance and development expert, with global experience leading and transforming organisations in the private, public and not-for-profit spheres.

She holds positions at prestigious, international organisations including the World Economic Forum, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, African Economic Research Consortium and the Nelson Mandela Institute for Science and Technology, amongst others.

Holding a Civil Engineering degree (Dar es Salaam University), a Transportation Master’s (MIT) and a PhD in Infrastructure Systems (MIT), Dr Léautier has published widely on international development and has taught at postgraduate level from the USA to Japan.
