New Dean for the Faculty of Health and Medicine

Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone will join Lancaster University as Dean of Faculty of Health and Medicine (FHM) in the summer.

She is currently Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Impact at Bangor University. She is also the Director for the National Institute for Health Research’s (NIHR) Health Service & Delivery Research programme, Chair of the National Institute for Care and Health Excellence (NICE) Implementation Strategy Group and is a Senior Research Leader for Health and Care Research Wales.

Professor Rycroft-Malone has accumulated a body of research that resulted in her being listed by Thomson Reuters as one of the world’s highly cited researchers (http://highlycited.com/). She has also been appointed as a sub-panel member for unit of assessment 3 – allied health professions, dentistry, nursing and pharmacy for REF2021.

Professor Mark E. Smith Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University welcomed the appointment: ‘I am delighted that Professor Rycroft-Malone will be joining us as Dean of FHM and be part of the Senior Team at Lancaster. It is great that we have been able to attract someone of her outstanding quality who understands the breadth of FHM.

Professor Jo Rycroft-Malone will take up the post of Dean on 1 July 2019.
