When coming to Lancaster from overseas you will likely require a visa to study in or visit the UK. Before you start your application, you should check what you need and make sure you understand the process. We can advise on the type of visa you need and help you understand ATAS certificates if you need one.
Applying for a visa can seem complicated but you shouldn’t worry. Our experts are on hand to guide you through the visa application process and will supply you with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). You can also get information about health screenings and vaccines, and details about bringing your family and dependants to the UK.
Once you're settled into your studies at Lancaster, you might want to start thinking about your post-study requirements. We can help with this. We can advise on your rights to work in the UK during your studies; inviting your family and friends to visit; making changes to or extending your visa; and returning for graduation.
As part of your visa application, you may be required to pay towards the cost of the National Health Services (NHS). Payment of the health surcharge entitles you to NHS-funded healthcare on the same basis as an ordinarily UK resident, including NHS hospital care.
The UK offers a range of fantastic post-study visa options that most students are eligible for. The Graduate Immigration Route is an attractive option that allows those that have successfully completed a bachelors or postgraduate qualification in the UK to work or look for work for up to two years. It will also facilitate the move into other work routes that potentially lead to settlement.
