We think the best way to get to know Lancaster is to visit in person. But what can you expect to hear about?

Staff and students from the course you're interested in are on hand to help. Get into the details about your course, talk to staff about how you’ll learn, chat to current students about their experiences, and explore your department's space and facilities.
You’ll find at Lancaster there’s always someone rooting for you. Our community is strong and at our open events you’ll start to meet some of the amazing people and teams dedicated to supporting our students.
Your college will likely be your physical home in your first year, but also the first port of call for support and socialising. You can meet college staff, take a look around some of the unique college spaces and explore your accommodation options.
My biggest advice for your open day is to ask as many questions as possible. Speaking to current students is valuable because they can provide honest insights into what university life is really like.
We run several different talks throughout the day. As well as our subject presentations, our general talks will take you through everything that Lancaster University has to offer. There's no need to book ahead of time, you can just turn up at the start. The detailed timetable for our Open Day will be published in early September. Lancaster University's campus is located 3.5 miles south of Lancaster city centre, in the north-west of England.
Exit the M6 motorway at Junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster. After Galgate village, turn right at the second traffic lights into the University main drive. If you are using a route planner or sat nav please use the postcode LA1 4YW.
You can catch our free shuttle service from the exit on platform 3 of Lancaster Railway Station straight to the Chaplaincy Centre on campus from 8.00am. The last shuttle service back to the train station is at 4.30pm from the Chaplaincy Centre.
In-person and live-streamed campus tours are available throughout the year. Explore our beautiful campus in the company of a student ambassador. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about living and studying here.
