What is ReStore?

ReStore Lancaster is a sustainability store partnership between Lancaster University and St John’s Hospice. The shop is a combination of a charity shop with donated items for sale, alongside selling affordable and eco-friendly products to the campus community. The shop sells a variety of items, such as clothing, homewares, cycling equipment, eco-friendly toiletries, and more. The shop also provides a year-round space for Post Office on campus.

ReStore Lancaster will donate a percentage of its profits to both St John’s Hospice. The shop also hosts events and workshops to raise awareness and educate people about sustainability and ethical consumption.

Our partners

ReStore Lancaster is a collaboration between Lancaster University and St John's Hospice.

St John's Hospice

We are working with local charity, St John's Hospice to bring pre-loved clothing and accessories to ReStore. Your donated goods and the items you buy from ReStore will bring much-needed income to directly fund the many hospice services provided - whilst supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly shopping.

Bike accessories

If you're travelling to and from campus by bike, or thinking about cycling as a healthy alternative to other travel modes, ReStore sells a small selection of cycling accessories such as equipment, locks and puncture repair kits.

Beauty refills

The refill station features eco-friendly cleaning and personal care products, provided by Miniml who use natural ingredients and embrace zero waste. Products on sale include a shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, body wash and a surface cleaner.

The Post Office

ReStore is the new home of the Post Office on campus. They have a range of services designed to help make life easier - from paying your bills, to sending a parcel, to buying some travel money.

  • University merchandise

    ReStore is the official supplier of all the sustainable university merchandise on campus. Items include reusable water bottles and coffee cups, sustainable clothing and recyclable stationery.

We’re here to help make your journey go smoother We can help with travel money. travel money card or travel insurance. - Over 60 currencies available, all at 0% commission - Deliver to home or collect in branch, its up to you - US dollars and Euros can usually be collected in 2 hours

Banking and bills

Why make an extra journey to your bank when you can access your account at your local Post Office? You can check your balance, pay in cash or cheques and withdraw cash in our branch. You can also pay bills at the Post Office - gas card, electricity key, pre-pay smart meter or council tax.

Gift cards

Housemate’s birthday? Family celebration? The Post Office offer One4all Gift Cards which are perfect for every occasion. Spend directly in store and online with 100s of retailers on 1000s of brands.

Dry cleaning

Do you need your winter coat or graduation outfit dry cleaning? We work with Supreme Cleaners to provide you with an on-campus dry cleaning service. Simply drop off your dry cleaning at the Post Office counter and pick back up. With a 10% discount for students on full price items.

Parcels and cards

Whether you’re sending a birthday card, selling things online or do a lot of online shopping, the Post Office can help with all your post. - Shopped online, but not going to be at home for delivery? Look out for the ‘collect from Post Office’ option when you place your order and pick up from us when it suits you. - Return online shopping securely and easily. Plus, some retailers will give you a QR code. Just show us the code and we’ll print and attach your return label for you.
