£2 single bus fares until 30th June 2023

The Government’s £2 single bus fare promotion has been extended until 30th June 2023. The programme, which was introduced in early 2023, had originally been planned to expire at the end of March but will now run throughout the spring and in to early summer. Single bus fares have been capped at £2 for a wide variety of destinations across Lancashire and Cumbria with the aim of encouraging passengers to reduce car use, improve air quality in towns and stretch their money a little further. Find out more about the £2 promotion extension and fare cap exclusions.

£1 single evening fares until 31st March 2023

The extension of the £2 single fare promotion comes in conjunction with the Bus Service Improvement Plan’s scheme to set a price of £1 for all single evening fares within the Lancashire county boundary until 31st March 2023. Funded by Lancashire County Council, the promotion means that passengers getting on a bus at or after 7pm will pay no more than £1 for any bus journey within administrative Lancashire. Some journeys are excluded, including the local 555 bus and some bus services operated by Blackpool Transport, so ensure that you plan your journey ahead of using these services. Finally, there is also a promotion currently running which grants free Sunday bus travel with the purchase of a £5 Saturday Dayrider ticket. Find out more about free Sunday bus travel here.
