Student beginning registration on laptop

Registration

Registration is the process of becoming an official member of the University. We will help you through it with step-by-step guidance and access to support.

Covid-19 and our flexible approachWe have made sure you can complete crucial registration steps online. We are also here to support you through the process every step of the way. So if you do have any issues, please let us know by emailing registration@lancaster.ac.uk. If you are unable to arrive on campus because of legal restrictions, ill health or care responsibilities, we will work with you to agree a flexible arrival time. For now, please complete your registration. We also recently hosted an online International Student Assembly where staff and students provided guidance on what to expect this year. You can watch again or catch up by accessing the event recording

How to complete registration

We know not everyone will have been able to complete their registration yet, and that is OK. There is still time and we are here to help. We are asking new students to complete registration by Friday 30 October. We have outlined some guidance to help you. Please take a look and see which situation applies to you and follow the steps.

  • I am awaiting my visa

This will not prevent you from registering, beginning your studies or accessing our systems.

As long as you have completed everything else, it is not a problem if you haven’t provided us with a copy of your visa yet. When you do have a copy, please go to the Registration Centre and upload a copy.

Your status will be 'Provisionally Registered', which will not affect your ability to study and access relevant systems. It does, however, indicate to the Registry that there is an element of your Registration still to complete.

  • I am unable to arrive on campus

If you are unable to arrive on campus because of legal restrictions, ill health or care responsibilities, we will work with you to agree a flexible arrival time so that as soon as possible you will be able to join us on campus for in-person teaching. We will be in touch with you regarding support for this, but for now, please complete your registration by visiting the Registration Centre. Information on what to do whether or not you have begun the registration process is available in the sections above. You can also find more information about our flexible approach to arrivals online.
