Alumni Kaizen European Champions

Alumni Kaizen European Champions -

Adam (pictured left) receives his silver medal

Lancaster Uni alumni Adam Gregory and Kieran O'Brien have become winners in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu European Championships.

Despite splitting their time between coaching, running a business, Kickboxing, Wrestling, MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kieran more than held their own against the specialists. Kieran -MA (2010) & BA Religious Studies (2009) Furness - won every match without conceding a single point and is now a 2x European Champion, winning the competition two years running. Adam - MA Knowledge Management (2008) & Business Studies (2007, Lonsdale) - won a silver medal, winning every match up to the finals without conceding a single point.

This is the most prestigious Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition in Europe and one of the most prestigious in the world and it's a huge achievement for Kaizen and for Lancaster, especially considering the men aren't even BJJ specialists but MMA fighters and coaches. They'll also be competing at the World Championships in June in California alongside BJJ coach Michael Wood and a few of the students.

This comes after they have just reached full capacity for their adult classes and have also just been shortlisted for the University Entrepreneurs challenge (http://www.educatenorth.co.uk/university-entrepreneurs-challenge).
