College Activities
Colleges put on a wide variety of activities, often free, that can help you improve your wellbeing, including lunchtimes and evening activities such as wine tastings, book clubs, subsidised massages, theatre trips, and talks. The best way to find out about these is through your college newsletter.
Or you might like to volunteer your time and skills to help your college. College teams are always keen to hear from staff who have some spare time to help in college either occasionally or on a more regular basis.
There are also various roles with the college that may help you within your own role. Each college has its own Principal, Manager, Senior Advisors, and Wellbeing team, who provide support for each student independently of their academic department.
Each college has a wellbeing officer who can provide guidance on welfare and psychological issues to students, and staff concerned about their students. They can help your students’ access support if they are experiencing difficulties with their health, housing, flatmates, personal life, finances or studies. They also provide guidance to students who may have specific needs such as students from a care-leaver background, those who have additional caring responsibilities and mature and off-campus students. Support can be accessed via your college or you can contact Student Mental Health Service.
