In detail

If you are starting in 2023, you will qualify for a Lancaster University Bursary of £1,000 in each year of your studies if:

  • You are an undergraduate applicant and meet eligibility for UK Government funding support
  • You have a household income of less than £30,000

When will bursaries be confirmed?

Bursaries are normally confirmed around the middle of October. Lancaster will send an email to your Lancaster email address from studentfunding@lancaster.ac.uk.

Awards are paid directly into a bank account that you nominate via an online process. We will send details of how to do this via email. Each award will be made in two equal instalments paid in November and February.

Can I receive a bursary for each year of my course?

You can receive a Lancaster Bursary for each year of study, providing that the assessed household income remains under the threshold of £30,000. You are not eligible to receive the Lancaster Bursary for any repeated years of study.

You can find examples of award entitlement on our award entitlement pages.
