By bus?

The Lancaster University Bus Station, otherwise known as ‘the Underpass’, has undergone a full-scale refurbishment during the summer months, with a range of improvements including resurfacing of new and existing flooring, new and improved lighting, new benches, improved drainage, and comprehensive redecoration. The refurbishment project has also been the subject of an article on the Lancaster District Bus Users’ Group blog, which contains useful information and regular updates about bus services in the Lancaster District, including Morecambe, Heysham, Carnforth and the surrounding rural area.
Bus passes can be purchased directly with Stagecoach online.
By car?
While we do not encourage students travel to campus by car on a regular basis due to the Climate Emergency and restricted supply of parking spaces on the main campus, student and visitor parking is available in some areas on campus. Find out more about student parking on campus.
Student parking areas using a Parking Permit are largely located in Alexandra Park on Southwest Campus. However, permit parking is also available for certain students in other parts of campus, including the Health Innovation Campus for those eligible. We discourage students from bringing a car, but we understand that sometimes having one is necessary and so, for those who are eligible; applications for the parking permit are being accepted online now. You can check your eligibility by reading the current parking policy. You’ll find details of exactly how to apply there too.
From October 2023, RingGo Cashless Parking Solutions will be introduced across campus to simplify and digitalise non-permit parking on campus. Parking users will be able to pay for parking using the RingGo app, via the RingGo website or by using the RingGo payment helpline. Instructions on using RingGo will be signposted in parking areas across campus.
