Student beginning registration on laptop

Registration

Registration is the process of becoming an official member of the University. We will help you through it with step-by-step guidance and access to support.

Access the Registration Centre

About a month before your programme starts, you’ll receive an email that invites you to register online and links you to the Registration Centre.

If you don’t receive this email, make sure to check your junk email.

Don’t worry if you can’t find the email. You can also use this link to the Registration Centre, but please note that you won’t be able to access the Registration Centre until you’re due to register online about a month before your programme starts.

To access the Registration Centre you will need the login details you were sent.

If you no longer have access to the email address you were using when you applied to the University:

  • If you will be an undergraduate, please update your UCAS application to show the correct email address.
  • If you will be a postgraduate, please contact Postgraduate Admissions to provide the correct email address.

Complete Registration

During online Registration you will be guided to:

  • Confirm your details.
  • Set up your IT account – you’ll be given your account username (based on your name) and must set a password for it.
  • Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your IT account. You should do this straight away when asked because MFA provides an extra layer of security for accessing some University IT services. After setting up MFA you should return to the Registration Centre.
  • Upload your photo.
  • Upload your documents.
  • Enrol on your modules, where necessary.

After you have completed these steps, they will be approved by a University staff member.

The final step in Registration is attending your ‘Right to Study’ check on campus, and collecting your University Card. For on-campus students, this may be via your college on arrival or through a central registration event during Welcome Week for which you will need to make an appointment - visit our Registration page for more information.

International students will also need to complete International Check-In. This will take place in Welcome Week, and you will receive the information you need to attend this when you arrive for your studies.

If you have questions or need support through any stage of registration please let us know by emailing registration@lancaster.ac.uk.
