The Graduate College accommodation team manage a range of one-bedroom flats across campus, suitable for a single student or couples that want a little more privacy.

The flats

Alexandra Park

There are 22 one-bedroom flats on Alexandra Park suitable for couples, costing £259.56 per week.

These flats are located on the south west area of campus close to Cartmel College. Each measures approximately 40 square metres. The ground floor flats have a separate kitchen and lounge area whilst the upstairs flats have an open plan lounge/kitchen area. All have a double bedroom with a 1300mm wide bed and a sofa bed in the lounge area, a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Washing machines are not permitted in these blocks, although there is a laundrette located close by.

Bowland South & East

There are four one-bedroom flats in the centre of campus around Alexandra Square suitable for couples, costing £227.08 per week.

These flats are situated on the rooftop overlooking the square, there is no lift access to these flats. The flats measure between 34 and 37 square metres and all have a double bedroom with a 1300mm wide bed. A further flat in this area is suitable for single occupancy and contains a 1200mm bed. All flats have an open plan living/dining/kitchen area and a shower room.

Washing machines are not permitted in these blocks, although there is a laundrette located close by.

Bowland Main

There are 13 one-bedroom flats in Bowland Main suitable for a couple or couple and a baby, costing between £227.08 and £251.93 per week.

These flats are situated on the rooftop of the Bowland Main building, just off Alexandra Square, with some of them benefitting from lift access. Flats measure between 34 and 39 square meters. All have a double bedroom with a 1300mm wide bed, most have an open plan living/kitchen area and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

They measure between 35 and 40 square metres in size.

Some of these flats have a space for a washing machine, and there is lift access to some, but not all of them.

County Field

There are 16 one-bedroom flats at the north end of campus next to the LICA Building suitable for single-occupancy by postgraduates. The weekly cost is £251.93.

There are two flats on each floor in four-storey blocks, there are no lifts in these buildings. Each has a double bedroom with a 1300mm wide bed, ensuite shower/wet room, and a small open plan living/kitchen area.

We also have a one-bedroom flat at ground level which is larger and adapted for wheelchair access.

Washing machines are not permitted in these blocks, although there is a laundrette located close by.

County Main

There are eight one-bedroom flats on the rooftop of the County Main building at the north end of campus, suitable for single occupancy or a couple and costing £259.56 per week. The building has lift access.

Each measures 37 square metres and contains a double bedroom with a 1300mm wide bed, open plan living/kitchen area, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Washing machines are not permitted in these blocks, although there is a laundrette located close by.

Please note that while big enough for a couple to live in these flats may not be suitable for two people studying.

County Main flats

County South

There are five one-bedroom flats on the rooftop of the FASS Building on the north spine, two suitable for single students and three for couples, and costing £223.93 per week. There is no lift access to these flats.

Single occupancy flats are 26 square metres in size and include a single bedroom, open plan kitchen/living area and bathroom with a shower over the bath. Those suitable for couples are larger (33-35 square metres) with a double bedroom.

Some of these flats have a space for a washing machine (and there is a is a laundrette close by for those that don't), and there is limited lift access to the top floor.

Furness Main

There are two one-bedroom flats in Furness on the rooftop of the Furness Main building in the centre of campus, suitable for a couple or a couple and baby. The weekly cost is £251.93. There is lift access to Flat 6 via the rooftop.

The flats range in size between 37 and 56 square metres, featuring a 1300mm wide bed, open plan living/dining/kitchen area and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Some of these flats have a space for a washing machine (and for those that don't there is a laundrette located close by). There is lift access to some but not all of these flats.
