Alexandra Square hosted its artisan Christmas markets on 6th-9th December, brimming with festive produce. From collectable items and stocking fillers to delicious hot food and irresistible sweet treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Students and staff alike have been able to take full advantage of the festivities on offer, with fantastic musical performances of Christmas classics, spectacular decorations and lights adding that extra sparkle to central campus, plus a visit from Father Christmas himself alongside his elves and reindeer on the 8th of December to add further to the excitement for the upcoming holiday season.

Organised by the Lancaster University Student Union, these Christmas markets effectively turned the central campus into a winter wonderland, as demonstrated by some images taken throughout the week. Highlighting the importance of shopping local and supporting local businesses, the markets offered us all a chance to purchase unique and oftentimes hand-crafted products, making perfect gifts for loved ones. One of many exciting Christmas/holiday-themed events over the final weeks of Michaelmas Term, you certainly did not want to miss out!
