About the hub

The LUC@BJTU Sustainable Innovation Research Hub (SIRH) is a collaborative platform for research, education, and innovation in sustainability and emerging technologies. It brings together academics, students, and external partners to explore sustainable solutions through interdisciplinary research, knowledge exchange, and international partnership.

Our mission is to support innovative research that addresses global sustainability challenges through technology, cross-sector collaboration, and academic–industry partnerships, helping to build a recognised centre of excellence within LUC@BJTU for sustainable innovation.

What we do

SIRH provides opportunities for collaboration, engagement, and knowledge exchange across Lancaster University, Beijing Jiaotong University, and global partners. Our activities include:

a global webinar series bringing together academics, industry experts, and students to discuss sustainability and emerging technologies
cross-campus collaboration connecting Lancaster University, BJTU, and global partners
academic engagement activities such as workshops, guest lectures, and student initiatives
