Bus and Coach Travel
A comprehensive range of bus and coach services are available from campus, both to the local area and to destinations across the UK.
At least 14 buses an hour between campus and the city during term-time day times.
More than 10,000 passenger journeys are estimated to take place at the Underpass bus stop every day during term-time weekdays.
The direct 1/1A service runs every 10 minutes Mon to Sat during term-time.
View the Lancaster and Morecambe Bus Network Map for details of Stagecoach bus services in the area.

Travelling around campus by bus
All services stop at the Underpass, Sports Centre and Health innovation Campus, but there are other bus stops on campus too. Some services use the stops on South Campus and South West Campus. From October 2019, a new great-value 50p single fare applies for all bus journeys within the campus boundary including the Health Innovation Campus from the A6. For pass holders, these journeys are all-inclusive.
Brand new buses
At least 14 buses service our campus every hour during term-time so it's no surprise they need replacing every once in a while. During August 2019, 14 Stagecoach double decker buses were replaced with brand new ones. The new buses have lower emissions and the latest equipment and technology. This includes contactless payment and next stop announcements on board.
Always improving campus
With over 10,000 passenger journeys using the Underpass bus stop each day, we have recently expanded the platform in the Underpass to make more space as staff and student numbers increase.
