Research Overview

My research focuses on the role of affect in online radical milieus. Using an explorative, comparative case study design, I am looking at events of importance to different radical milieus. Currently, I am looking at affect within far-right responses to the Christchurch attack and the most recent Black Lives Matter protests. Specifically, I am using a combination of multimodal inter(action) analysis and inductive coding to examine affect in event-related actions taken across online platforms.

I am a member of the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST) and the Social Processes Lab.
