Lancaster University Foundation (1+3) Programmes in China

Our foundation programmes are designed to prepare international students for their chosen undergraduate subject at Lancaster. These one-year programmes provide training in academic and study skills, computer skills, British culture and English Language preparation.

Lancaster currently collaborates with the following specially selected universities that deliver Foundation Programmes in China:

• Beijing Foreign Studies University, School of English and International Studies
• Shanghai International Studies University, MOE Training Center for Overseas Study / College for International Cooperative Programs
• Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu

Lancaster also accepts the following foundation programmes, which are taught at numerous locations across China:

• International Foundation Certificate (IFC), East and West International Education (EWIE)
• Top University Foundation Course (TUFC), Dongfang International Center for Educational Exchange (CSC)
• International Foundation Year, NCUK - not limited to China

Lancaster University 2+2 Programmes in China

Lancaster University currently offers 2+2 Programmes at a number of partner universities in China

Students on these programmes spend the first two years of their undergraduate studies in China and then study for a further two years here at Lancaster. In most cases, the degree which is awarded is from Lancaster University only.

Those students who meet the Lancaster University admissions criteria will be given the opportunity to go directly into the second year of the specified degree programme at Lancaster. Lancaster currently collaborates with the following specially selected universities that deliver 2+2 Programmes in China:

• Beijing Foreign Studies University (various Social Science and Management programmes)
• Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (Accounting, Management, Media)
• Shanghai International Studies University (International Relations, Media, Sociology)
• Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (Accounting, Economics, Finance)
• Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (various Management School programmes)
• South China Agricultural University (Environmental Science - double degree)

Lancaster also accepts students from the following 2+2 programme, which is taught at several locations across China:

• International Undergraduate Curriculum (various Engineering, Computing and Management programmes)

Pre-Master’s Programme in China

We offer a pre-Master’s programme in the School of International Studies at Beijing Foreign Studies University, leading to a postgraduate Master’s degree at Lancaster in selected Linguistics and Media programmes.

Double Master's Programmes in China

Lancaster University currently offers double master's programmes with a number of universities. Students on these programmes spend one or two years of their master's studies in China and one year here at Lancaster; usually in their second year. Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded two master's degrees; one from Lancaster University and one from the university in China.

• Beijing Foreign Studies University (various Social Science and Management programmes)
• East China University of Science and Technology (Media, Sociology, Social Work)

• South China Normal University (English, History and Linguistics programmes)
